RecordPressing.com sent a photographer/blogger out to our recent El Rio show, and he filed this report:
The dynamic of the band and their stage presence is matchless; all three members shared equally important roles within their performance – truly relying on one another to create their unique sound. It was a fresh breath to see Mark P. switch back and forth between two types of electric basses, both guitar and upright electric bass to put distinct tones on particular songs where he found it fitting. At the end of their performance, Mark P. and Mike G. traded instruments and stage placement to finish off the night with an explosive finale of heavy grunge with a tinge of folk-rock dissonance.
Mist Giant contributed to a truly entertaining night with a performance by musicians who have honed their sound into a genre all their own.

The show was, of course, a benefit for a new non-profit arts/community/organizing space opening up in West Oakland, The Holdout. Find out more at www.theholdout.org.
